ABOUT CARMINE :
Carmine Marra was born in a small town near Naples, Italy. At the age of 9, his family moved to Switzerland, and as a young man growing up, was surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes. It is from this experience that he draws most of his inspiration. Since 1968, Carmine developed his love for art by building on his knowledge of paint properties and color theory. His versatile talent takes him into various universal topics, but his primary interest is in landscapes. The artist infuses his canvases and murals with simple color combinations and carefully chosen compositions.
Throughout the years, he has been constantly and consistently developing his style and technique, thus giving each of his paintings a personality of its own. He is most interested in creating a unique experience each time he begins a new project by combining a variety of themes ranging from classical to contemporary. Over the years, he has worked with many types of media – oil, acrylics, watercolor, pen, and ink.
Many of his works are privately owned in homes found in Switzerland, Italy, Chile, Canada, and in the USA. Concerning art in general, the artist says: “Art is not just for a few, but for everyone to enjoy and appreciate.”
